The stone paving of the medieval road disappears and the path reaches the Los Corralitos meadow, with tall, stiff pine trees decorating the meadow. In the center of the spot is a very crude map carved into a wooden panel. The pine forests of the Corralillos prairie are worthy of contemplation strolling calmly among the enormous trunks, touching the old peeling bark, taking advantage of the shade of the treetops on summer days or seeking refuge in the autumn blizzards. Some specimens exceed twenty meters in height and have been living next to the Roman road since the Middle Ages.

In Los Corralitos, the Roman road, the Carretera de la República, the Camino Schmid, the Camino de Santiago and the Bourbon road, built in the 18th century, during the reign of Philip V, intersect to connect the capital of the kingdom with the dependencies of La Granja de San Ildefonso, which were the summer residence of several generations of Bourbon monarchs. The pines in the landscape are tall and old, giving the forest an atmosphere of venerable serenity.
