According to a text from 1948, the castle d'Odart, also known as castle Ondorpt, was destroyed 66 years before publication. It was located near the Berwijn, here in Thimister-Clermont, between the d'Odart farm (which is still there) and the 'du Moulin' farm (renovated, still there). All that remained was a stone with the coats of arms of the families de Frontteau de Housse and Tollet, dated 1607. This old castle, on the left bank and near the Berwinne, was located in the far north of the municipality of Clermont, between the current (derelict) Odart farm, and the 'Moulin d'Odart' mill (renovated). It was destroyed around 1882-1883, but although this was only just over a century ago, there is no picture of it. This shows how quickly certain old monuments can disappear without leaving any traces and how important it is to keep the memory of these monuments alive.
This highlight is therefore not the Odart Castle, but the old farm belonging to the disappeared Odart Castle.
