Shortly after the creation of the first garden city in England, the first German garden celebrated its foundation in Dresden more than 100 years ago. The Hellerau settlement goes back to the initiative of the furniture manufacturer Karl Schmidt, whose name is still associated with the Deutsche Werkstätten Hellerau. The interior fittings of the Saxon state parliament, the new synagogue and the Elbe paddle steamer were created here.

Beautiful garden city that is unique in its appearance. I can only recommend everyone to look around in Hellerau. (The Waldschänke, Festspielhaus and Deutsche Werkstätten are also highly recommended)
