At the beginning of the 14th century, the local manors belonged to the von Rechenberg family. Later the property belonged to representatives of other families. Georg Siegmund von Knobelsdorff, heir to Kosierz and Kukadło, had a magnificent castle built between two ponds around 1700. His wife, Ursula Barbara, née Haugwitz, gave birth to their son Georg Wenzeslaus in Kosierz in 1696, who later was a famous master builder at the court of Frederick the Great [1].
