The path runs along the bottom of the ravine of the Chiquillo stream and goes up to the meadow of the Royal Sanatorium of Guadarrama. The name is due to the first hospital built in the mountains for tuberculosis patients. The building was built in 1918 on a beautiful mountain balcony where those affected could sunbathe, get some fresh air and rest, which was the only treatment for the disease. The hospital was demolished in 1944 and an old information panel, the esplanade and, of course, the magnificent views remain on the site
