After the Korff family had provided a plot of land and with financial support from the Königshof chapel construction association, construction of the Herz-Jesu-Kirche began in August 1896 after government and church approval had been obtained. On September 26, 1897, the brick hall church was consecrated. At first it was a branch church of St. Clemens in Fischeln, on September 7, 1921 the congregation became independent. After a thorough redesign and renovation, the church key was handed over to Bishop Klaus Hemmerle at Pentecost in 1988 by the architect Franz Jörissen.
