You can watch the sunrise between the Elbe and Havel particularly well on the stretch just before the mouth of the Havel. An eleven kilometer long canal, the Gnevsdorf receiving water, was built here. It regulates the flow of the Havel via a weir system, which also serves as a bridge over the Havel.
