Around the year 1500, it was defensively rebuilt and given its current appearance. The chancel was expanded into a tower and provided with three defensive storeys made of brick and walls 1.50 m thick. The fourth cantilevered floor of the choir rests on segmental arches between the buttresses. It is equipped with a half-timbered parapet and an open career. A defense floor was built over the nave and the north and south entrances were equipped with defense systems. The bell tower is very impressive thanks to its numerous and varied defense systems. A ring with battlements on brick floors was built around the complex. There are also two bastions and a tower as well as a gate tower with portcullis.
