The monastery Walkenried is a former Cistercian abbey in Walkenried, located on the southern edge of the Harz near the border triangle Niedersachsen - Saxony-Anhalt - Thuringia.
The building complex includes the ruins of the monastery church and the largely preserved Gothic cloister building. This was expanded in 2006 to a museum (Cistercian Museum Kloster Walkenried). More at: de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kloster_Walkenried
