The formerly very large parish of Oerel still has around 2600 members today. The really pretty stone church was probably built as a one-room building around 937 and is one of the oldest of its kind at over 1000 years.

Hiking

The length of the tour, at just 7 km, is actually not a hike in the narrower sense. Rather a recommended jogging route, or something for Nordic Walking. I couldn't find any real highlights. But that doesn't matter! It has become a relaxed tour that focuses more on the path than on the goal or things along the way. - But if a highlight is required, then it is the very tidy, tranquil village of Oerel itself. You can tell that the people who live here love their place.
