Hiking Highlight
The Kirnitzsch rises at Krasna Lipa (Schönlinde) in the Bohemian Lusatia in about 500 meters altitude and flows after about 40 km at Bad Schandau in the Elbe. The valley of the Kirnitzsch was expanded in the 16th century as a raft, for rafting wood. Large parts can still be seen today, such as the raft in the stream bed and the raft shooter. For centuries, the wood was transported from the forests of the rear Saxon Switzerland in this way to the Elbe.

Perhaps suitable for a tourist train ride, but it is not particularly attractive for hiking. The Flößersteig educational trail leads alongside the road. If the valley is on the route it is not a broken leg, but I would not plan it extra.

A trip by train should definitely be, nice flair with the sound of the old train
