The wild and romantic valley of the Kirnitzsch - "valley of the mills" was developed for the felling of wood as early as the 16th century. Some parts of it can still be seen today and are very well described on the 9km long "Flößersteig" on approx. 100 information boards.
The tourist development began in the 18th century. The hikers here primarily wanted to experience the romantic nature. You can take the Kirnitzschtalbahn from Bad Schandau to the Lichtenhain waterfall. - An experience for the whole family.
