Best Mountain Biking Routes to Rabenfels Rock Formation

Tips

  • Wow - what a rock wall. Impressive from above, but the way down is definitely worth it. The downhill trail is demanding technical skills with the MTB (S2).

  • The approximately 30-meter-high Rabenfels, northeast of Krottensee in the Bürgerwald, southwest of the municipality of Auerbach in the Upper Palatinate in the Amberg-Sulzbach district in Bavaria, is a cylindrical rock tower made of Franconian dolomite with a pronounced overhang at the top.
Heavily shattered ceramics from the Urnfield culture were found on the rock needle, which is now used as a climbing rock. The Rabenfels has been designated as an important geotope (geotope number: 371R037) and natural monument by the Bavarian State Office for the Environment.
The trail down is relatively challenging and requires concentration, but is not dangerous to ride.
