The so-called Greek "Polynesia" is a picturesque fishing village, built on α small island, connected to the mainland with a thin alluvial land strip which runs between the two lagoons, Logaris and Tsoukalio. The area is a beautiful wetland with pelicans, flamingos, wild ducks, herons etc and also rich in fishery products. Koronisia is the largest and only inhabited island in the Ambracian Gulf, attracting many nature lovers due to its tranquility. Head to fish taverns supplied with fresh catch from the locals for a unique gastronomic experience and apart from fresh shrimp frm the lagoon don't forget to try the local caviar. It's a great place for photographers as well.
