The Dutch know what a biker needs: cycle paths that are firstly target-oriented, secondly have something to offer in terms of scenery and thirdly are safe because they are decoupled from car traffic. We can still learn a lot from that. The Fietsweg from Venlo to Roermond is a good example: always along the Meuse.

I'm always drawn to the water, but I particularly like driving here. A little closer to Venlo, you can see modern architecture, while otherwise you're out in nature.
Today (14.8.21) you could still see traces of the flood on the Moselle. There was still hard sand from the Meuse on part of the path, but that didn't detract from the driving pleasure.
