Pretty little ford in village of Wellow. Careful after a storm as the water can get fast and high

Lots of pretty little lanes lead off from this point. If the water is high there is a little paved bridge that you can cycle across in stead of getting your feet wet.

As you can see from my pic, it can flood but there is a high line over the bridge. The Fox and Badger is well worth a visit in Wellow. If you’re not into climbing, you’re in trouble as all routes from here involve some steep beasties

The church here is lovely and the hill down to the river is so steep it feels like you are falling down a mountain! We followed the footpath along the river but you have to go through/over a lot of gates so wouldn’t recommend following this route. Not sure if going back up the hill would be any easier though!!!

A cheeky climb straight after the ford when heading through Wellow towards Bath. A truly beautiful spot though.

It's a right, manky lane in winter but quality ford and old humpback bridge. Steep climb out the valley whichever way you're going.
