The well-preserved castle complex dates from the beginning of the 13th century and sits enthroned on a serpentine rock above Waldau. The former donjon can be seen from afar; it was converted into a local church together with the adjacent buildings in the 18th century. Today the medieval hilltop castle is privately owned, but can be visited on certain days.
