On the border of Bertem and Leuven lies a special natural gem, the Koeheide. The nature reserve is a mosaic of landscape elements, such as graves, sunken roads, thickets and grasslands. They form a biotope for the viviparous lizard and slow worm. The barren grasslands are home to an exceptional wealth of wax plates. In addition to the many special flora and fauna, you will find a special chapel in a bunker.
