Church of St. Nicholas (built after 1864).

The beginnings of the current Orthodox parish in Narewka (formerly called Narewka Mała) date back to 1794, when the first wooden chapel of St. John the Baptist was built in the cemetery. At that time, this chapel belonged to the parish in Lewków Stary. Unfortunately, on December 24, 1898, the chapel burned down and could not be rebuilt.

In 1864, a decision was made to build a brick church. It was planned that the temple would be located away from the center, in a place where the garden and park part of the Grodzisko manor was located. In June 1865, the cornerstone was laid. The name of the main construction master of Novików has survived to this day. The church was built not only from contributions from the parishioners. The Russian government allocated 10,000 rubles for the investment. The bricks for the construction were supplied by the Frydman brickyard (located near Narewka Mała) and factories in Białowieża. The church was consecrated in 1967, and three years later it was blessed (some sources say that it was consecrated in 1867). The patron saint of the church was St. Alexander Nevsky and remained so until 1869, when, as a result of the separation of an independent parish in Narewka, the church was renamed the church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. bialowieza.travel/zobacz-koniecznie/obiekty-sakralne/atrakcja/174
