Paul Ben-Chaim (Hebrew פָּאוּל בֵּן חַיִּים, in languages without the sound ch (IPA χ) also: Ben-Haim, born Paul Frankenburger; born July 5, 1897 in Munich; died January 14, 1984 in Tel Aviv) was a Israeli composer.
Paul Frankenburger was the son of the lawyer Heinrich Frankenburger (1856-1938). After graduating from the Wilhelmsgymnasium in Munich, he studied between 1915 and 1920 at the Academy of Music in Munich with Friedrich Klose and Walter Courvoisier (composition) and Berthold Kellermann (piano) and was then an assistant to Bruno Walter and Hans Knappertsbusch. From 1924 to 1931 he was Kapellmeister in Augsburg.
