You enter the volcano garden through a gate. The gate ensures that the goats, which basically act as landscape gardeners here, cannot escape.
In the volcano garden you can discover different outcrops, exposed layers that were created by the volcano's eruptions.
The Eifel Association offers guided tours from Steffeln, where the church and former rectory stand on a lava tuff ring. There are also special geo-excursions led by expert guides.
