4 ha test area with the aim of creating a resilient forest by rhenag, WTV and TUM. Planting of sessile oaks and silver firs in various mixtures.

The research project is long-term and will be evaluated by the TU over a period of ten years. With the future forest, the long-term interaction of two tree species is to be examined with regard to carbon sequestration, resilience and diversity. The results should lead to recommendations for forest conversion and the treatment of mixed stands in the Rhein-Sieg region as well as at the Wahnbachtalsperre and the northern Westerwald.
