    Tips

This place is not the Schwentine source. Even if its course further north is not shown on the komoot map or in OSM, it has its source - many sources agree on this - further north in several spring streams 1.7 km southwest of the Bungsberg, on a spring meadow northeast of the village Mountain field at a height of about 120 m.

Nevertheless, the marked spot here is very beautiful, as are countless other views of the Schwentine.

At the top of the hiking trail you have a magnificent panoramic view of the low-lying source of the Schwentine. This is exactly where the 68 km long river rises.

And before the Schwentine flows into the Förde/Baltic Sea in Kiel, it flows through numerous lakes, including:

      Great Eutin Lake

      basement lake

      Dieksee

      Lake Behler

      Large Plöner See

      Fuhlensee

      Lank lake

      Kirchsee

      Rosensee (reservoir, artificial)

If you walk from - roughly - Eutin to the Bungsberg, you cross the Schwentine every few kilometers. Either it simply crosses the street, or it flows straight into a lake, or it continues straight out of a lake's outflow. In this respect, it is clearly worthwhile to take a look at their origin !!
