    The former town hall was built in 1938. After a visit by the Minister of the Interior in 1937, the then municipality of Sleen received an offer of 35,000 guilders from the work fund for combating unemployment and the construction of a new town hall. Preparations for the construction of the neo-Renaissance design by architect A. Baart from Leeuwarden were already started in the autumn of 1937.
