Former beguinage convent with church ruins of beguinage church built in early Gothic style, built in two campaigns: naves and transept from the second half of the 13th century, choir and chapels from the first half of the 14th century. The convent buildings probably have a 16th-century core, the south side and entire south wing were rebuilt after 1944, the west facade was built during the restoration works of 1854; beguinage convent with monastery garden of 49.10 ares, with several brown beeches and a ginkgo planted around 1850.

The church is an example of early Gothic from the 13th century. It has a basilica structure and is mainly built of quartzite from Overlaar. It was built in two campaigns: naves and transept from the second half of the 13th century, choir and chapels from the first half of the 14th century. The three naves consist of six bays that end in a non-projecting pseudo-transept and a choir, flanked by rectangular chapels and ending in a seven-sided apse.

Founded in the first half of the 13th century; initially the beguines were given a house by G. van der Poorten in the so-called Begijnenstraat; they also came into possession of other houses, including in the Bostsestraat and outside the city walls in the area of Hakendover.

Definitive establishment and expansion beyond the city gate (Bostsestraat) and along the rampart wall and canals. Walled area with a roughly square plan, laid out according to a chessboard scheme: narrow streets, separated by fifty long houses, leading to the not completely axially located church square; the latter was bordered by the infirmary and convent buildings. Separate farm and parsonage located outside the fence (the latter looking out onto the Potterijstraat). Flowering period during the 14th and 15th centuries (300 beguines?) and apparently no revival during the 17th century (only 50 mentioned in 1622). In 1798 the court was dissolved; the goods were transferred to the Board of Hospitals. The infirmary apparently remained in use for some time. In 1844 the convent buildings were purchased by the Dominicans and adapted and restored in 1854.

The houses from the 16th and 17th centuries were inhabited by private individuals from the beginning of the 19th century and partly renovated, a few were demolished and replaced by new buildings.

Church founded as a parish church in 1250, the date at which work was probably started. Behind a flat facade without a bell tower, three naves of six bays, with a non-projecting pseudo-transept and a choir, flanked by rectangular chapels and ending in a seven-sided apse. Building of quartzite from Overlaar (but mouldings and details of Gobertange lime sandstone); desired simple architectural composition; built in two campaigns; naves and transept from the second half of the 13th century; choir and chapels (?) from the first half of the 14th century.

Nave on brick pillars, covered with a wooden barrel vault and sparsely lit by the small windows (restored); in the walls of the upper section, high stained glass window in the west gable; decorated at the top with a niche and on the ground floor with a central entrance (in its current form 17th or 18th century).

Side aisles from the same period, abundantly lit by eight windows and covered by a half barrel vault of wood. Transept without actual crossing; transepts lit by three three-light windows (possibly prototype for the Saint Christopher's Church in Liège, 1241), and oculi placed above the slope in the Mosan Romanesque manner. Higher choir, broken in the east by high white windows between bands, which imitate buttresses; wooden pointed arch barrel vault. Side choirs in connection with the presbytery and the transepts; two quarter-round arcades support the triumphal arch; same scheme applied for the windows of the choir closure.

Furniture. In the north aisle, Gothic tombstones of Gheridt Foet († 1481) and Reynder Caus († 1562).
