The Siegestor is a triumphal arch of the type of the Arch of Constantine in Rome, the Marble Arch in London, the l'Arc de Triomphe in Paris and the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, although smaller than the above, but no less attractive. After being severely damaged in World War II, the gate - similar to the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church in Berlin - was deliberately only partially rebuilt. Anyone who wants to look for fragments of the Siegestor will find what they are looking for in the old town, right behind Rindermarkt, on Nieserstraße (rather a small alley). There, for reasons that can probably only be answered by the planners, some ashlars that had been blown off by the effects of the war were erected.

The Siegestor is a neoclassical triumphal arch in Munich, which was built between 1843 and 1850 according to plans by Friedrich von Gärtner. It forms the northern end of Ludwigstraße.
