The Eiskeller Tower, also known as the "Icehouse", is a neo-Romanesque building built around 1880 in the castle park.
It served as a refrigerator at that time.
In his basement, ice forged from park ponds in winter was collected.
An efficient insulation system allowed for long-term storage of ice, which was transported to the castle's pantries, where it protected food against spoilage.
At the top of the Ice House there was a terrace for the orchestra, which made social life in the castle park more enjoyable.
