Hiking

The church of St. Peter was built in 1845 but the spire was only erected in 1864, with the bells not added until 1872. It was the scene of a great fire on May 28th 1948 which burned throughout the night and all that was left of main body of the church were the shell and, amazingly, the spire. It took 8 years to rebuild but as well as being a place of worship is now a thriving community hub in Walsden.
