It rises in Montmeló, in the Vallés Oriental region, when the Mogent and Congost rivers join, and flows into the Barcelonés, in the municipality of San Adrián de Besós. Its river basin crosses or passes through the following cities: Montmeló, Mollet del Vallés, Martorellas, La Llagosta, Moncada and Reixach, Santa Coloma de Gramanet, San Adrián de Besós and Barcelona.The flow of the Besós is typical of the Mediterranean, very irregular throughout the year.
