Tips
The white tower forms the eastern tip of the city fortifications. The fact that it shines in bright light at sunrise and that it temporarily housed the so-called white professions such as midwives and barbers probably gave the tower its name. Later also used as the home of the community shepherd and prison tower, its cells were used by rioters and drunkards to sober up.
