S. XVII - XVIII. The House of Guevara or House of the Columns is the most significant private building of all the civil baroque of the city. In 1689 the knight of the order of Santiago, Juan de Guevara García de Alcaraz, belonging to the Lorca oligarchy, decided to finish it for housing. Building icon of the civil baroque style of the city of Lorca. Also known as La Casa de las Columnas, it was commissioned by Don Juan de Guevara and its construction was completed in 1705.
The facade is most striking, especially for the abundant decoration with plant, fruit and satyr motifs and you can also distinguish the coat of arms of the Order of Santiago.
Although you can only visit the interior patio, it is undoubtedly a place to see from the outside and appreciate its beautiful architectural design of the time.
