Managed by the Northumberland Wildlife Trust Low Hauxley nature reserve is a great and easily accessible bird watching site. It's also one of the easiest places to see red squirrels in Northumberland.
The eco visitor centre was constructed from straw bales by volunteers and now holds lots of information about the animals on site and the conservation work. There are also toilets, a cafe and a shop.
