Château Maillot is located in the town of Levier. It is strategically installed on a mound allowing to control the only road then leading to the castle.
The current building dates from the 19th century, but the original castle - which has suffered several destructions and abandonments over time - dates from the 15th century.
Its architecture, which contrasts with the very rural style of the surrounding villages, deserves this little detour.
