Best Hiking Routes to Ravin de Valbois

Tips

  • The Valbois ravine is a characteristic recess of the Jura. Perhaps one of the wildest around. This is located in the eponymous Nature Reserve, over a length of three kilometers. It is home to a superb waterfall which gives rise to a river, and serves as a refuge for many species of birds (king kite, peregrine falcon, black woodpecker...), insects and even reptiles.

  • Tough walking path, wear good shoes and long trousers. Some climbing and scrambling skills are required because of the many fallen trees.
