It's really very interesting. You can learn how bricks were made here in the past. The tree roots that hold the old bricks together are particularly impressive.

This is one of the very few temporary brick kilns still in existence. Right next to it is a small clay pit. Here, clay from the Tertiary period was mined and up to 35,000 bricks of varying quality were fired in one go for personal use. The particularly hard bricks were used for road building, for example, and the softer ones were used as bricks for building houses. The whole thing ran alongside the "normal" farm life as a sideline and for personal use. Overall, this kiln was probably only used 3-4 times a year because it is also a very time-consuming process.
