On a small hill between the streams Banfe and Godelsbach stands the village's Protestant church. It has been documented that a place of worship has stood on this site since 1492. At Easter 1872, part of the old church collapsed, forcing it to be closed. The new building with its unique slate roof was completed in 1877. The two approximately 20-meter-high towers on the west side are striking and can be seen from a great distance. Because no other church in the Wittgenstein district had two towers, it is still called the "Banfer Dom" (Banfe Cathedral) to this day.
