The Velebit campsite is one of my favorites of this trip. This campsite is magical. There are possibilities to rent hobbit houses, to camp in a more or less wild way. It is without numbered slots, as elves and sprites don't like to be boxed. There are many community places, starting with the kitchen. The surroundings are superb and offer hikes of great beauty. You meet great people there and the sky is clear and bright. In short a paradise I tell you

Camp Velebit in Baške Oštarije : a bit improvised but great atmosphere, friendly and very helpful host. Nice location. If you want, you can spend the night in a "hobbit cave". And if you are interested in astronomy, you should spend a night there. In the sparsely populated Velebit you have a magnificent view of the stars.
The owner is also happy to give hiking tips. There are many touring options.
