The Heimatmuseum Unser Fritz is one of the three locations of the Emschertal Museum on the social history of Herne and Wanne-Eickel. In the year Wanne-Eickel was founded (1926) it was set up as a local history museum. After several changes of location, it is now housed in the former elementary school in the Unser Fritz district of Herne.

The Heimatmuseum was founded in 1926 - the year the town of Wanne-Eickel was founded - and changed its location several times in its early years before it moved to the building that is no longer used as a school.
