Bike Touring Highlight
That was the former railway line from Mainz over Alzey to Kaiserslautern.
This route ends now in Kirchheimbolanden, because shortly before the end of WW2 the bridge near Marnheim was blown up by German soldiers. These are the remnants of it.

The Pfrimm Valley Viaduct was a railway bridge near Marnheim.
Shortly before the end of the Second World War, the bridge was blown up by retreating Wehrmacht troops in March 1945.
Since the construction of the B 47, which was removed from the railway embankment adjoining the viaduct, the rest of the bridge has been completely free.
The bridge is a listed building and forms the "gateway to the Zellertal".

It's not a Roman viaduct, but it is still very impressive.
There are also great bike paths here.
