The Linnenbeeke Tower is a historic building in the Wiehen Mountains near Bad Essen. It was probably built in the second half of the 13th century.
The tower is made of quarry stone and has a half-timbered structure. Its original purpose is not clearly documented, but it is suspected that it served as a watchtower or to monitor the surrounding areas.Today, the Linnenbeeke Tower is a popular destination for hikers and history buffs. It offers an insight into the medieval architecture and historical significance of the region. Although the tower is no longer completely preserved, the remaining structures testify to its former importance.The tower is located in the Linnenbeeke nature reserve, which is known for its diverse flora and fauna. A visit to the tower can be ideally combined with a hike through the picturesque landscape of the Wiehen Mountains.
