Burgau Castle

The main castle of Burgau Castle looks back on an eventful history. Built at the beginning of the 14th century by the Counts of Heinsberg and given to Wilhelm von Burgau as a fief, the romantic moated castle now presents itself in a new splendor. Destroyed in 1944, ruined until 1975 and restored since 1998, Burgau Castle is once again the jewel of the city of Düren. The hallmark of Burgau Castle is the bay window, built in 1551 (donated from a happy marriage), which defines the image of the south tower of Burgau Castle. The outer bailey, built too French.
