Mountain biking
above the most important and well-known Castle, improperly called Arechi, stands the watchtower more commonly known as the "Bastille". The time of its construction is uncertain, most likely under Norman rule. Located on a hill north of the Castle of Salerno, in a higher position, it had the main function of sighting and defense. It was, therefore, a sort of "traffic light" tower from which any suspicious movement not visible directly from the height of Mount Bonadies could be reported to the Castle.
