Fiumalbo is a renowned tourist resort in Alto Frignano, declared Orange Flag by the Touring Club, located on the border with Tuscany and about 75 kilometers from Modena, where the Acquicciola and the Pozze rivers join to form the Scoltenna stream.
Its territory is part of the Alto Frignano Modenese Regional Park and extends from a height of 800 meters up to 2,165 of Monte Cimone. It owes its name to the waters that surround it (from "Flumen Album" or "Flumen Alpium").
The first information on the presence of a town in the area dates back to 1038: when the father of Matilde di Canossa gave the "Rocca which is called Fiumalbo" to the Bishop of Modena.
