The Hermitage of the Humilladero has great symbolic content for the solaneros. It is the headquarters of the Brotherhood of the Virgen de Peñarroya, patron saint of La Solana that it shares with the neighboring municipality of Argamasilla de Alba. It could be built in the middle of the 18th century although other theories place it back in time with a dedication to San Juan with the role of Humilladero. The Virgin only visits this Hermitage twice a year, on her arrival on the second Saturday in September and on her march the following Sunday after San Antón.
