The Visigoth Necropolis of Alhambra, in the province of Ciudad Real, is an impressive funerary complex located on the southern slope of the hill. This archaeological site has approximately 200 tombs dating back to the High Middle Ages.
The tombs are carved into the sandstone rock and come in various shapes, such as oval, rectangular and trapezoidal. Many of them have been looted over time, but remains and structures can still be seen that offer a fascinating insight into Visigothic funerary practices.
