The Kneipp cure is a medical procedure, which is usually carried out over a period of three to four weeks at a recognized Kneipp spa. It contains the elements of the Kneipp medicine named after Sebastian Kneipp, represented by the Kneippärztebund, and is used to prevent or treat existing illnesses. Indications include cardiovascular diseases, orthopedic diseases, immune deficiency and autonomic disorders.Some elementary components of a Kneipp cure can also be carried out independently of a spa stay, such as barefoot running in shallow water (water treading), on dewy meadows (Tautreten) or in the snow (snow walking).
