Many historical buildings shape the appearance of Lübeck, including the former pastors' houses of St. Jakobi, which have been extensively renovated since 2009.

Right at the beginning of the 17th century, the congregation of the Jakobikirche built three-story brick houses as living quarters for their pastors in the immediate vicinity of the church. After the clergy and their families moved to other domiciles, the buildings deteriorated over time, although they were still used in different ways.
