The Church of San Gottardo is located in the hamlet of Cirano, in the municipality of Gandino, province of Bergamo. It is dedicated to Saints Gottardo and Bartolomeo and is a place of worship with a long history.

        History and characteristics:
Origins: The church was built in the 15th century by order of Giovanni de Michelis, owner of the land.

Consecration: It was consecrated in 1476 and initially managed by three mayors who administered the income for the celebration of 120 annual masses.

Pastoral visits: In 1564, Bishop Federico Corner described it as poorly cared for and abandoned. San Carlo Borromeo also ordered its restoration in 1575.

Restorations: In 1630, the church was renovated and expanded, with the addition of the chapel of the Madonna della Neve.

Bell Tower: It houses a concert of 9 bells, the oldest dating back to 1650.

Parish: In 1969, with the creation of the parish of San Bartolomeo, the church became a subsidiary of the parish of San Giacomo.

        Location and access:
Address: Via Silvio Pellico, Cirano di Gandino, BG.

Altitude: Located on a hill overlooking the Gandino Valley.

Architecture: Facade with sandstone portal, two large side windows and a small churchyard
