Tips

  • The nature reserve owes its name to the Zoete Waters, a series of ponds and marshes that have been created over the centuries by the riverbed of the Dijle. The area is characterised by a varied landscape of water, grasslands and forests, which makes it an ideal habitat for many animal species. Birdwatchers can indulge themselves here, with a rich offer of both residential and migratory birds. Other wild animals, such as squirrels, deer and foxes, are also regularly spotted in the wooded part of the area.

  • When the ponds are filled with water, it will be beautiful there. Due to the long drought, 3 ponds were dry.
