TP 54 This church was built at the beginning of the 13th century. Such a church without extensions is called a hall church. The eagle on the pulpit is striking in the church. In other churches in Western Europe, this symbolism has been used in combination with the reading of the gospel since the late Middle Ages.

The eagle as an image also appears in other churches, including in Beilen and Rolde in Drenthe. The origin of this is now known. The organ builder and restorer Petrus van Oeckelen from Glimmen ordered and placed these statues”.
