One of the most beautiful mound castles in Germany - also called Motten - once stood in Seeg, on the edge of the hamlet of Burk, on a large, round mound in the middle of a valley. The wooden castle served the Seeg gentlemen Suuiker de Seekka and Gerboldus de Seekke in the 12th century as a mansion and was protected by a wide moat. Only faint traces remained of the castle itself, the Motte is now privately built.

The large mound of earth with a moat can be viewed from the outside at any time.
